Shell to cut 6,500 jobs

Royal Dutch Shell is cutting 6,500 jobs this year as it tries to cut costs to offset a 37 per cent drop in quarterly profits.

Royal Dutch Shell is cutting 6,500 jobs this year as it tries to cut costs to offset a 37 per cent drop in quarterly profits. Capital investment will also be reduced by $3 billion to $30 billion. The company will be selling some assets but is going ahead with its $70 billion acquisition of the BG Group.
