We may have a few months to wait before finding out the date for this year’s federal budget.

We may have a few months to wait before finding out the date for this year’s federal budget. Joe Oliver has delayed the report to allow a longer analysis of the effect of lower oil prices but will only say that the date will be set as April approaches. The budget is normally revealed by the end of March to tie in with the end of the fiscal year. The Finance Minister has also repeated that the planned tax cuts announced last year will go ahead despite the economic uncertainty. The surplus “is not there to look at” he said.
