Keystone XL pipeline gets approval from the Senate

Controversial it may be but today the US Senate voted to force through the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline by 60 votes to 36.

Controversial it may be but today the US Senate voted to force through the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline by 60 votes to 36. TransCanada won’t be popping the Champagne corks just yet though as the five-year fight is not over; President Obama has vowed to veto the bill as it removes his executive power to approve or reject the construction.  Assuming he uses that veto pressure will then mount on the President to decide whether he’ll allow the pipeline or not.
