Higher cable TV bills on the way say experts

Convergence Consulting Group says that 95,000 Canadian households opted to cut the cords on their cable services last year and this year will see even more ditching cable TV services or opting for cheaper packages.

Convergence Consulting Group says that 95,000 Canadian households opted to cut the cords on their cable services last year and this year will see even more ditching cable TV services or opting for cheaper packages. Recently-changed rules from the CRTC will make cancelling and downgrading easier and it could lead to those that continue with services paying more as operators pass on losses by hiking fees. Broadband services may become more expensive to compensate for lower TV revenues.
