Toronto-based financial planner Ed Rempel is launching a new robo-advisor service aimed at young Canadian investors.

Robo-Advisor Professional will focus on millennials wanting to invest in ETFs but lacking the necessary knowledge to do so. The investments will be made using WealthSimple once the client has provided their in-depth financial
profile which will be analyzed by Rempel and discussed with the client.

Rempel hopes the new service will introduce millennials to investing and financial planning while providing them with tools to make the process quick and easy.

He hopes that the flexibility and greater control of investing in ETFs will be attractive to younger investors along with the fee-saving.

The financial planning veteran of 25 years says that fewer than 1% of Canadians have a professional financial plan created for them but by starting young, investors can lay solid financial foundations.

"What they don't understand is that a financial plan is a GPS for their lives," Rempel says. "People at any age will get value from one, but for Millennials, now is the time to get that GPS pointed in the right direction in order to ensure a comfortable financial future."
