Fourth quarter profit in Canadian Tire Corp. have exceeded expectations. Same-store sales were up by 2.8 per cent driven by sales of homeware products and winter tires. The firm’s financial services division also did better and retail store expenses were lower than forecast. Total revenue was up 10 per cent to $3.65 billion with earnings per share of $2.59 excluding certain items.
