Canadian Tire profit disappoints

Canadian Tire reported results Thursday but missed analysts’ expectations. The retailer said sales growth in sports gear and apparel declined and expenses were higher. Second-quarter adjusted net income was $166 million, or $2.15 per share, down 8 per cent. Reuter’s poll of analysts had called for $2.20 per share.
