A new report says that there are around 54,000 unfilled IT roles in Canada which is leading to delays in getting projects underway or completed. IDC Canada’s estimate also reduces innovation the firm says. The company’s Mark Schrutt said that businesses had learned to adapt but he told CBC News: "The skills gap we defined as not having the right personnel of the right kind at the right price to do the work.” Training and contracting-out of IT work will cost Canadian businesses an estimated $960 million he said.
