The Canadian auto industry is losing out to Mexican competitors according to a report from the Automotive Policy Research Centre. It says that the last time Canada’s auto sector had a trade surplus was in 2006 and that investment in the industry in Mexico has led to more parts and cars being imported from the country along with the EU and Asia. The report also highlights that new trade agreements will mean that the US will likely import more vehicles from Europe and Korea with Canada losing out.
