The international banking leader has announced they are bringing in a new strategic advisor to the CEO for Global Digital Banking. Ignacio Deschamps has worked in the banking industry for over 30 years and is said to be a ‘digital banking innovator.’ Scotianbank has brought in Deschamps to help pull them further into the digital world and accelerate their progress.
Starting from January 4, Deschamps will be working with leaders within the institution and partnering with technology heads to accelerate Scotiabank's digital transformation. This includes reimagining and simplifying the customer experience as well as digitizing the bank's many systems and processes.
"His leadership in navigating and leveraging digital banking trends, and his deep banking expertise in key international markets, will provide tremendous benefit to Scotiabank," said Brian Porter, president and chief executive officer of Scotiabank.
Deschamps has previously worked at Inter-American Development Bank, Bancomext, Bancomer and BBVA. He also has recently helped to develop extensive 'FinTech' relationships and digital experience in various markets.
At Scotiabank, he will be helping to redefine a digital banking roadmap and prioritize investments and resources to accelerate the bank's digital transformation. This is all a part of Scotiabank’s plan to improve the services they offer and to make sure they are accessible online in every way so that they aren’t missing out on any market.
Deschamps seems to be a big part of taking those next steps to a more technologically advanced service.
