Mackenzie Investments isn’t ousting you, the advisor, with the ‘advice free’ option on its new do-it-yourself (DIY) funds, announced this week.
In a release Wednesday, the firm assured advisors that the new Series D offering – available through RBC Direct Investing, alongside Invesco Funds and BlackRock – will not affect the relationship or support offered to advisors.
“We remain committed to the advice channel and being your investment partner of choice: that has been, is, and always will be our core business focus,” says the release.
The Series D funds - available exclusively through a discounted brokerage channel with a minimum investment as low as $500 - has the self-directed investor in mind, removing the advice portion from trailer fees and bringing dealer remittance to 25 basis points for Mackenzie and Invesco funds (BlackRock details to be released).
