World Stocks Down

Stock markets in Asia were mostly down Monday as the Iraq unrest continues to push oil prices up, Europe was braced for energy supply issues and markets await the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting on Wednesday. Japan saw a slump due to a rise in the yen against the dollar affecting exports, while China’s mainland shares rose with the Premier writing in London’s The Times newspaper that his country expects to hit growth forecasts of 7.5 per cent.
