The Toronto Stock Exchange has declined for the third day in a row with prices of oil falling lower again to less than $45 and copper also down 2.7 per cent. The sombre tone has been exacerbated by more analysis showing the potential effects of the dramatic cuts in oil prices.

The S&P TSX Composite Index closed down 77.85 (0.55 per cent)

The NYSE closed lower

Oil is trending slightly higher

Gold is trending lower

The loonie is lower against the US dollar ($0.8368 at close)
