World markets higher on Greece hopes; Wall St awaits data
Global stock markets have been trading with renewed optimism as hopes increase of a deal being reached between Greece and the rest of the Eurozone. Despite talks still being fragile there is growing expectation that an exit from the Euro and the EU by Greece can be avoided with both sides seemingly keen to make it work. The potential end of the stalemate has helped Asian markets close with gains, even Shanghai which dropped sharply in the last session. Europe is also higher so far with Greece and stronger economic data for the Eurozone boosting sentiment.
US stock futures are trending higher. Oil is mixed (Brent up at $63.38, WTI down at $60.22 at 6.20am ET). Gold is trending lower.

Syngenta says Monsanto offer has to be at a fair price
The world’s largest crop-chemical manufacturer, Swiss-based Syngenta, says that any takeover from US firm Monsanto will have to be at a fair price. Syngenta chairman Michel Demare said on the firm’s YouTube channel that Monsanto was trying to buy the company “on the cheap” and said that any offer must reflect its full value. The Swiss firm has rejected two approaches so far.
Three in ten Americans have no savings
A survey reveals that almost 30 per cent of Americans have no emergency savings. Fox Business reports that the Bankrate.com survey has been running for 5 years and the new figures are the highest percentage so far. A further 21 per cent of those polled have only three months worth of expenses saved.
Jurassic World movie is the fastest movie to hit $1 billion
Jurassic World has achieved $1 billion in ticket sales in a record 13 days. Universal said Monday that the dinosaur movie beat the record set by another of the studio’s films, Furious 7, by 4 days.
