Christine Lagarde said Tuesday that global economic growth is likely to be weaker than the IMF had previously predicted. Pointing to a slowdown in some advanced economies, the IMF managing director said that emerging economies may also suffer from China’s slowdown and a hike in US interest rates. The IMF forecast growth for the global economy of 3.3 per cent for 2015 back in July but Lagarde said in a speech in Indonesia: "Overall, we expect global growth to remain moderate and likely weaker than we anticipated.”
