IMF chief pessimistic about growth

IMF chief pessimistic about growth Christine Lagarde said Tuesday that global economic growth is likely to be weaker than the IMF had previously predicted. Pointing to a slowdown in some advanced economies, the IMF managing director said that emerging economies may also suffer from China’s slowdown and a hike in US interest rates. The IMF forecast growth for the global economy of 3.3 per cent for 2015 back in July but Lagarde said in a speech in Indonesia: "Overall, we expect global growth to remain moderate and likely weaker than we anticipated.”
