GDP fell in November

New figures from Statistics Canada show that the economy declined in November as weaker manufacturing, mining and the extraction of oil and gas meant GDP fell by 0.2 per cent.

New figures from Statistics Canada show that the economy declined in November as weaker manufacturing, mining and the extraction of oil and gas meant GDP fell by 0.2 per cent. Goods production was down 0.8 per cent while services were unchanged from October with retail and the public sector picking up the slack from weaker wholesale trade, financial and insurance sectors. Construction was unchanged while utilities gained from winter demand for electricity and gas.
