US jobs data is the key focus for European markets so far Friday. Strong earnings results continue to boost sentiment and in the UK the central bank announced that interest rates are being held steady at 0.5 per cent.

Meanwhile Greece’s stock market reopened this week after a 5-week hiatus and has slumped dramatically. Banks in particular have seen their value fall; at least halved in many cases according to CNBC.
