A survey of economists from CNN shows that most are confident that China is not heading for a slowdown and that growth for 2015 will be 6.9 per cent, just short of China’s official 7 per cent forecast. Although data continues to point to weaknesses and the Shanghai composite has lost 40 per cent of its value since June, CNN says that the experts say a slower pace for China is part of its “new normal” and point to the likelihood of further stimulus from Beijing.
