CRTC announces new rules on TV packages

Subscription TV services are heading for a shake-up although not immediately. The CRTC today announced rules that will mean Canadians will be able to pick which TV channels they want to watch without paying for ones they don’t. The plan is for a ‘skinny’ option that will cost no more than $25 a month although chunkier plans will still be an option. The rules will be phased in over the next 18 months or so.
