Cost of making cars in Canada sends Corolla to Mexico

Toyota announced on Wednesday that it is investing $1 billion in a new plant in Mexico and will move production of its Corolla sedan there; ending a thirty year run of being made in Canada.

Toyota announced on Wednesday that it is investing $1 billion in a new plant in Mexico and will move production of its Corolla sedan there; ending a thirty year run of being made in Canada. The plant in Ontario will continue to operate though with workers switching to making mid-size cars. The provincial government said that Toyota has given assurances that it will continue to invest in Ontario.
