Conrad Black and Jack Boultbee, another former executive of Hollinger Inc, have been permanently banned from being directors or officers of any publicly traded Ontario company. The decision by the Ontario Securities Commission was announced today; it said that the pair’s convictions for fraud in the US meant there was a risk of further actions that would be detrimental to the integrity of the province’s equity markets. Black has said that he has no intention of holding office in an Ontario company but was still opposed to a ban.
