A measure of 22 raw materials has hit its lowest point since August 1999. The Bloomberg Commodity Index is down 1.7 per cent Monday with oil weighing heavily. Copper, aluminium, soya beans and palm oil are among the commodities that are trading for less so far this week. Gold is faring better as investors look to safer havens than equities.
