The Canadian dollar has made international travel more expensive and figures show that there were fewer cross-border trips made by Canadians. The data from StatsCan shows that Canadians took the fewest trips to other countries since 2010; down 4.8 million in February. The reduction was largely due to fewer car trips being made to the US. However the lower valued loonie hasn’t encouraged extra visitors with those numbers staying at January’s level of 2.2 million trips.
