Canada could follow around 40 countries including France and the UK in joining the new Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

Canada could follow around 40 countries including France and the UK in joining the new Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. The China-led development bank is seen as rival to the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank, both of which include the US among shareholders. Finance Canada spokesman David Barnabe told The Globe and Mail that is was continuing to assess the bank’s request to join but hinted that a decision is likely to be some months away.
