A new deal between Export Development Canada and London-based telecoms operator Vodafone will net Blackberry a $750 million windfall. Vodafone has recently repaid a previous loan from EDC and this new deal will involve a commitment to Blackberry’s services, products and software plus an additional $100 million to enable it to forge new supply chain links with Canadian companies and other “corporate purposes.” Blackberry is due to report its third-quarter results, estimated to come in around 20 per cent lower than the same period last year.
