Alberta cannot avoid recession according to the chief economist of ATB Financial. CBC News reports that Todd Hirsch says that the province is in mild recession rather than the mild growth that he predicted in June. The main change is the price of oil, which he says looked stable at around $60 in the spring but has lost a third of its value since.
