An investor protection group has proposed a single website providing clients with a one-stop shop for information about advisors as a way of ferreting out the bad actors.

Stan Buell is the right man to ask about this subject. He has no dog in the fight except protection of investors and the public interest. It should be pointed out in any media that "advisor" is a "non-regulated title" that "anyone can use" according to CSA lead counsel Chris Besko. Fooling the public into the belief that it is a professional license and registration category (legal spelling of which is "adviser") is one of the greatest billion dollar deceptions I can point towards today. Search "Chris Besko" here to find stories, quotes, links to this "Grand Deception" http://www.investoradvocates.ca/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=34&sid=8c7a413cb43c9b09d34de7b8c9a85d9b
